She was predeceased by: her parents, Sarah Jane Bryson and Luther Moody Garrett; her husband James Wallace Burt; her daughter Karen Dixon; and her siblings, Bertha Bailey, Leck Garrett, Jack Garrett and Nadine Broyles.
She is survived by: her children, Cassy Sims (Jeff) of Jonesboro and Sharon Smith (Glenn) of Clearwater; her grandchildren, Alison Gebhardt, Nathaniel Sims, Matt Dixon, Bevin Hunter, Sydney Hayter and Samantha Smith; and her great grandchildren, Andrew Gebhardt, Will Gebhardt, Ian Sims, Rowen Hunter, Dylan Hunter, Matthew Dixon and Madison Dixon. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Sherwood Memorial Park (6841 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro, GA 30236).
