It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gail Higgins Cheek (Jonesboro, Georgia), who passed away on February 29, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Higgins and Berdie Higgins; and her siblings, Dean, Jerry, Alma and Aubrey.

She is survived by: her husband Don Cheek; her sons, Charles Carter of Jonesboro, Steve Carter (Dedra) of Hampton and Lee Carter (Camey) of Olive Branch, MS; and her stepchildren, Donna Gilchrist (Tommy) of McDonough, Sharon Delbridge of Tuscaloosa, AL, Sylvia Dickens of Spring Lake, NC and Ed Norwood (Pam) of Easley, SC.. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations go towards Tara Church of Christ, 1620 Hwy 138, Jonesboro, Ga. 30236.
