He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Layton Murdock; his children, James Murdock Jr. (Cheryl), Beth Newby (David) and Andrew Murdock (Marguerite); his brothers, Melvin Murdoch and Larry Murdoch; and his grandchildren, Karie-Leigh Sams (Ronnie), James A. Murdock, Miranda Smigiel (Jason), Michael Murdock, Rachel Newby (Tony), Sarah Murdock, Rebecca Nowell (Austin), Jacob Murdock (Jordan), Andrea Murdock and Drew Murdock. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Ford Funeral Home and Cremation Services (2047 GA-138, Jonesboro, GA 30236).
