It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lauretta Bowen (Jonesboro, Georgia), who passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her children, Julius Bowen and Karynne Bowen; her grandchildren, Ajyhane Overton, Ariohnna Bowen, Aaminah Bowen, Emory Stubbs, Aasiyah Shakir, Aamiyah Shakir and Shaqirah O'Neal; and her sisters, Sylvia Perteete, Charlene Pryor and Mary Scott (Victor). She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Legacy Funeral Home (8968 Fayetteville Rd, Jonesboro, GA 30238). Visitation was held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Faith Missionary Baptist Church (6712 W Fayetteville Rd, Riverdale, GA 30296). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
