She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Hilton and Edith Thornley; her husband Robert B. Matthews, Sr.; her sister Kathy Ayscue; and her niece Karen King.
She is survived by: her son Robert "Bob" Matthews, Jr. (Vicki); her granddaughter Lisa Dojan (Doug); her great grandchildren, Brie Dojan (Pete) and Taylor Gifford (Andrew); her great-nephews, Garrick King (Mary Kate), Maddox Andrew King and Graydon King (Morgan Lindsay); and her sister-in-law Pat Newman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ford Stewart Funeral Home Inc. (2047 Hwy 138 SE, Jonesboro, GA 30236). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
