He was predeceased by: his parents, William Avery and Agnes Lorena Lewis Slayton; his brother Fred Slayton; his aunt Mary Alice Nations; and his cousin Vickie Morris.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Hughes Slayton (Wall); his children, Joshua Lewis Slayton (Rachel) and Kristin Nicole Slayton (Jim Simmons); his grandchildren, Riley and Kallie Slayton; his sisters, Karen Malcott (Bill) and Dianne Henson; his nephews, Chris Nations, Ashley Kennedy and Hunter Malcott; and his niece Jordan (Malcott) Beck (Alan).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Kalyn's Funeral Service (6040 Watson Blvd, Byron, GA 31008). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to a fund benefiting David Lewis Slayton's memorial. These gifts can be made payable directly to McCullough Funeral Home with "David Lewis Slayton Memorial Fund" written in the memo line.
