He was predeceased by : his parents, James William Day, Sr. and Virginia Murphy Day; his son Michael Day; and his siblings, Arthur Day (David Day) and Lena Day.

He is survived by : his wife Peggy Colston Day of Kite; his daughters, Ronda Day Callahan (Charles) of Lake Wales, FL, Amanda Day of Kite and Allison Day (Jeremy Goode) of Kite; his sister Anna Dukes of Louisville, KY; his grandchildren, Ronnie Grose (Candi) of Frostproof, FL, Danielle Croft of Lake Wales, FL, Christopher Smith, Taylor of Charlotte, NC, Payton James Day (Kasey Lamb) of Stillmore and Alana Nicole Day of Kite; and his great grandchild Morgan Grose. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.
