He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Lewis Fortner and Reba Wheeler Fortner; and his granddaughters, Kathy Carpenter and Tiffany Broughan. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Kitchens Fortner; his children, Twan Broughan (Buddy) of Kite and Lewie Fortner (Gail) of Wrightsville; his grandson Lewis Fortner III (Jessica) of East Dublin; his brother Bobby Gene Fortner (Mahala) of Kite; and his friend Jimmie Rumore. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, other extended family and many dear friends.
