He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Joseph Smith and Mary Davidson Smith; and his brother Robert Davidson "Davd" Smith. He is survived by: his wife Cathaleen Green Smith; his daughter Aimee Marie Ownby; his grandchildren, Tanner Ownby and Ashton Ownby; his niece Chrystene Williams; and his nephew Zane Smith.
