She was predeceased by: her parents, Morris Cosby and Dana Dell Brooks Cosby; her sister Dot Cook; and her granddaughter Virginia "Gini" Key. She is survived by: her husband Donald Howard "Don" Mahaffey; her daughters, Lynn Key (Danny) and Susan Ford (Pat Meusel); and her grandchildren, Lyndsey Sanner and Jimmy Buck.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 100 Broad St, LaGrange, GA 30240. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Her scholastic achievements at LaGrange High School enabled her to receive a scholarship from Callaway Mills Foundation to attend LaGrange College, where she studied Commercial Arts.
