She was predeceased by: her parents, Odell Bowles and Leavada Williams Bowles; her husband Fred Childress; her former husband Melvin Phillips; and her siblings, Marie Gipson, Elbert Bowles, Lee Bowles and J. Roy Bowles.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Phillips (Valerie), Brenda Williford (Doug) and Bobby Phillips; her sisters, Lois McDonald and Shirley Cadwell; her grandchildren, Brandon Phillips (Katlyn) and Meagan Cribbs (Adam); and her great grandchildren, Carter Cribbs and Ainsley Phillips. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
