He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Truitt Truitt and Callie Heard Truitt; his brother Albert Hall; his aunt Willie Jo Heard; and his uncles, Willie "Duke" Heard and Anderson Heard.
He is survived by: his cousins, Johnny Heard (Glinda), Mary Jo Jackson, Ruby Morin, Cathy Hutchinson and Charles Heard (Shirley); and his brother Eugene Truitt of LaGrange, Georgia. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
