He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rufus Bowen and Lucy Hale Bowen. He is survived by: his children, Dale, Beth Bowen, Mike and Cindy Bowen; his grandchildren, Nicki, Matt Bassman, Zack Bowen, Abby, Delaney Addams, Sara, Bret Lyttle, Katie Bowen, Daniel Bowen, Jonathan, Mollie Marlow-Bowen, Tim and Tara Bowen; his great grandchildren, Jack Bassman, Ben Bassman, Turner Bowen, River Bowen, Wyatt Bowen, Thorin Bowen and Whit Bowen; his close friend Margaret Jackson; and his grandson Ethan Chesnut. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home (506 Hill St, LaGrange, GA 30241). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
