With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine Louise Abernathy of LaGrange, Georgia, born in Mitchell, Georgia, who passed away on January 9, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Guy Gee Whitcomb and Mary Kennedy Whitcomb; her husband Otis J. Abernathy; and her siblings, Caroline Hunter and Carroll Whitcomb.

She is survived by : her son Randy Abernathy (Megan) of Biloxi, MS; and her sister Harriette Piper of Stafford, KS. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Georgia Hospice in her honor.
