With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deacon Eugene Wright (LaGrange, Georgia), who passed away on June 16, 2025 at the age of 91. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Will Wright and Sarah Berenette Thomas Wright; his wife Louise Tucker Wright; his son Arlice Wright; his son-in-law Thomas Sawyer; and his siblings, Rueben Wright, Charlie "Junior" Wright, Richard Wright, Dorothy Wright, Juanita Wright Jackson and Mary Wright Harper.
He is survived by: his children, Godrey "Beau" Wright (Barbara), Racine Wright Lester, Gary Wright, Tanya Wright Sawyer and Richard Trammell; his stepchildren, Claude Tommie and Latreva Tommie Oji (Edwin); his sisters, Shirley Wright Thompson and Lillian Wright Livingston; and his close friend Ruby Morgan. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home (100 Corporate Plaza Dr, LaGrange, GA 30241). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church (1111 E 10th St, West Point, GA 31833).
