He was predeceased by: his parents, Mahlon Gooch and Mamie Gooch; and his son-in-law David Pattillo. He is survived by: his wife Sue A. Cooley Gooch; his children, Teressa Pattillo, Ronnie Gooch, Mark Gooch (Genie), Neal Gooch (Jennifer), Susan Bailey (Doug), Robin Olinger (Rusty) and Brad Cooley (Mikki); and his grandchildren, Daniel Pattillo (Vicky), Lori Lawrence (Jason), Dusty Pattillo (Lessie), Devin Pattillo (Jeana), Holly King (Matt), Heather Molena (John), Chance Gooch (Shana), Alec Gooch (Allison), Dawson Gooch, Jonathan Gooch, Hudson Gooch, Haddon Gooch, Sbu Nkosi, Alicia Bilbo (Travis), Amber Hogg (Daniel), Ashley Hadley (Dalton), Ethan Crouse, Sarah Crouse, Ricky Cooley, Hunner Cooley and Ellayna Cooley. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Callaway Baptist Church (310 John Lovelace Rd, LaGrange, GA 30241). A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Callaway Baptist Church Building Fund.
