She was predeceased by: her mother Mattie Ruth Gates. She is survived by: her children, Michael Newsom of LaGrange, GA, Debra Goode (Donald) of Garner, NC, Tony Herndon (Pauline) of Columbus, GA, Sandra Brewer of LaGrange, GA, Alfred Herndon (Cherelle) of LaGrange, GA and Robert Herndon Jr. (Vivian) of Atlanta, GA; and her close friends, Paul Williams, Artie Doll Hardnett, Juanita Person and Louise Ridgeway. She is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home (100 Corporate Plaza Dr, LaGrange, GA 30241). A graveside service was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Southview Cemetery.
