It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hugh Dorsey Benefield Jr. of LaGrange, Georgia, who passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Dorsey and Mary Cunningham Benefield. He is survived by: his wife Reba Wilder Benefield; his children, Greg Benefield (Margie), Sharon Lewis (Brian) and Kristy Brown (Russ); his grandchildren, Bryse Benefield (Alyscia), McKenzie Benefield, Bethany Lewis, Ben Brown and Rusty Brown; his great grandchildren, Tenley and Graydon Benefield; and his brothers, Don Benefield (Brenda) and Mike Benefield. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Christian Church (1524 Co Rd 20, Roanoke, AL 36274). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Bethany Lime Church or to a cancer fund.
