He is survived by: his parents, Jennie Mae Gates and Johnny Ray Gates, Sr.; his children, Atria Wilson, Ikaharia Wilson, Ahmaury Sessions and Thynathan Gates; his grandchildren, Ja'vian, Santonio, E'monty, T'Keria and Ashonie; his siblings, Marshell Gates, April Gates, Demetrius Gates, Crystal Gates, Minister Travis Hart and Tyronica Harris; his daughter Madhavi Kelley; his aunt Annie Mae Brown; and his friend Dre Huguley. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
