We announce the death of Katherine Sheppard Hill (LaGrange, Georgia), who passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 79. Katherine will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Sheppard and Viola Sheppard; her siblings, Albert Sheppard, Bobby Shepherd, Robert Sheppard, Eula Mae Harrison and Charlie Bell McFarlin; and her son-in-law Willie George Grissom.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Hill; her children, Katherine Grissom, Tracy McGhee and Sabrina Wyatt (Jamar); her grandchildren, Concetta Grissom, Willie Grissom (Shemonica), Zaquavius Grissom (Jay), Darrius Moore (LaTesia), Courtney Laye, Massica McGhee, Ashanti McGhee, Kayle Dalton, Traymon Cofield, Timothy Bumbrey and Kalis Bumbrey; her siblings, Martha Sheppard, Roosevelt Sheppard, Leroy Sheppard (Dorothy), George Sheppard (Vivian), John Sheppard and Maria Davis; and her sisters-in-law, Lula Clyde Delaney and Ida Ann Holloway. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Wehadkee Missionary Baptist Church (572 Old School Rd, LaGrange, GA 30240).
