She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Dewitt Talmadge Tanner and Mary Harriett Barnes; and her husband Avery Pierce Sledge. She is survived by: her children, Col. Avery Sledge, Jr. (Cecelia), Melissa Ralston (Glenn), Janice Bentley (Terry), Susan Lyles (Odis) and Kathy Sledge; and her grandchildren, Darian Jones, Patrick Sledge, Christopher Ralston, Kelly Tonelli, David Bentley, Caroline Bentley, Rachel Bentley, Joseph Bentley, Tonya Cosper and Jarret Lyles. She is also survived by several great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
