He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Jones Gates; his children, Ricci Jones (Itia) and Jaquavion Jones; his grandchildren, Zantavious Jones, Kha'lobe Jones and Messiah Jones; his siblings, Nancy Robertson of LaGrange, GA, Alfred Herndon (Cherelle) of LaGrange, GA, Clayton Gates (Betty) of LaGrange, GA, Tony Herndon (Pauline) of Colubmus, GA, Bernice Gates of LaGrange, GA, Michael Newsome of LaGrange, GA, Joe Gates of LaGrange, GA, Debra Goode (Donad) of LaGrange, GA and Sandra Brewer of LaGrange, GA; his sisters-in-law, Allison Gilliam (Tony) of LaGrange, GA, Sonja Jones (Willie) of LaGrange, GA and Marion Talley of LaGrange, GA; his aunt Judy Kate Truitt; his uncles, Jarvis Truiss, Sr. and Moses Beasley; and his close friends, Tommy Cotton, Pete Boykin and Charlie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home (100 Corporate Plaza Dr, LaGrange, GA 30241). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
