Willie Edward Blackmon Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Edward Blackmon (LaGrange, Georgia), who passed away on May 10, 2026, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Willie leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Willie may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.

He was predeceased by: his siblings, John Wheeler Strickland (Annie Lois), Charlie Fred Blackmon, Lizzie Mae Blackmon and Sally Lou Lindsey; his nephews, Jerry L. Strickland, James Lewis Blackmon and Arthur Blackmon; and his close friend Charlie Thornton.

He is survived by: his daughters, April M. Blackmon and Tomonica D. Jones; his sister Catherine B. Edmondson; and his close friend Rob Copeland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home (100 Corporate Plaza Dr, LaGrange, GA 30241). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Southview Cemetery.
