She was predeceased by: her parents, Burnes Simmons and Pauline Singletary Simmons; and her great grandchildren, Brenton Carter and Annie Carter. She is survived by: her husband Wallace Gaskins; her children, Nancy Carter (Tony) and Wallace III Gaskins (Evelyn); her grandchildren, Connie Carter (David), Cody Carter (Maribel), Celeste Gaskins (Eddie) and Audrey Gaskins; and her sister Mary Herndon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
