He is survived by : his wife Susan McArthur Schafer; his children, Steven Schafer of Naples, FL, Brad Schafer (Jennifer) of Roswell, GA, Eric Rassel (Christy) of Spartanburg, SC, Sue Schafer of Flowery Branch, GA and Ann Sorsdahl (Mike) of Orlando, FL; his brother Harold Schafer (Kandi) of Rome City, IN; his grandchildren, Amanda Sorsdahl, Alyssa Norman (Trey), Alan Sorsdahl, Abby Freeman (Michael), Emma Schafer, Will Schafer, Erin Rassel, Olivia Rassel and Megan Rassel; and his great grandchildren, Sophie Norman, Noah Norman and Mabry Freeman.
