With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Byron Toney of Lavonia, Georgia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Byron left this world on July 28, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Luther Toney and Janna Blanche Casey Toney. He is survived by: his wife Diane Haley Toney; his children, Chuck Toney (Laura) and Martha Toney Long (Dennis); his grandchildren, Isaac Toney-Schmitt (Christina), John Toney (Kelley), Will Toney, Haley Sue Long Williams (Allen), Lucy Long Boggs (Joseph) and C'Lee Long (Thomas Johnson); and his great grandchildren, Theo Toney and Quinn Toney-Schmitt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Strickland Funeral Home-Lavonia (355 Bear Creek Rd, Lavonia, GA 30553). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Lavonia First United Methodist Church (25 Baker St, Lavonia, GA 30553).
