He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoke Stephens and Sondra Ausburn Stephens; and his brother Ricky Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Kim Stephens; his children, Michael Stephens (Lindsay), Sarah Harper (Jay) and Andrew Stephens (Haden); his grandchildren, Cambrilyn Scofield (Jason Jefferson), Lexie Stephens, Callie Stephens, Caleb Stephens, Tate Stephens, Neely Stephens, Kate Harper, Addie Harper and Amelia Harper; his siblings, Kelly Cown (Tony), Joel Stephens (Rhonda) and Donnie Stephens; his mother-in-law Carolyn Barrett; and his brother-in-law Chris Barrett (Margina). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Poplar Springs Baptist Church (67 Poplar Springs Church Rd, Lavonia, GA 30553). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
