He was predeceased by: his parents, Mofya Veronique and Lwimba Kotati; his grandfather Thomas; and his former wife Marilyn Apple of Detroit. He is survived by: his son Yombwe (Tahirah); his grandchildren, Julian Alyster, Benjamin Ellis and Zahra Ain; his godson Robert Gary, Jr.; and his brothers-in-law, Darwyn Apple and Bryan Apple (Glenda).
