She was predeceased by : her parents, Emily Shackelford Simonton of Lawrenceville and Leon Oliver Simonton of Lawrenceville. She is survived by : her daughter Emily Buffington Embry; her son-in-law Headen Davidson Embry; her grandchildren, Anna Kate Embry, Davidson Lane Embry and Collins Pierce Embry; her sister Brenda Simonton Purvis; her brother-in-law Joe Purvis; her brother Stanley Simonton; her sister-in-law Mary Ann Seagraves Simonton; and her nieces and nephews, Bryant (Tebbi Purvis), Beth Purvis Leonard (Rob Leonard), Lori Simonton Kwilecki (Chris Kwilecki) and Matt (Brittaney Simonton). She is also survived by her daughter, grandchildren, sister, brother, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Lawrenceville Foundation in honor of Carol Simonton Buffington.
