He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucy Mae (Chatham) and A. G. Franklin; his grandson Shaun Franklin; and his siblings, Ralph Franklin, Clarence Franklin, Ronnie Franklin, Geneva Gazaway, Dorothy Atwood, Mary Ann Masters and Faye Franklin.
He is survived by: his sons, John Newton Franklin and Keith; his daughter-in-law Connie Franklin; his daughter Cathy; his son-in-law Eddie Ross; his son Neal; his daughter-in-law Jill Franklin; and his grandchildren, Tim, Beth, Christy, Steven, Landon, Ashely, Jessica and Devon. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the TIM Stewart Funeral Home (300 Simonton Rd SW, Lawrenceville, GA 30046). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of TIM Stewart Funeral Home (300 Simonton Rd SW, Lawrenceville, GA 30046).
