He is survived by: his wife Janet Bengston; his sons, Derrick, Jaime Bengston of Lawrenceville, GA, Kenny (Patricia Bengston) and Thomas (Nadia Bengston); his stepdaughter Lisa Dekoomen, MD; and his grandchildren, Ronald Blake Choate, Luke Dekoomen, Seth Dekoomen, Abigail Seay, Aubrie Cross and Alexandria Toth.
