She was predeceased by: her parents, Alberta Miller Lenton and John Lenton; her siblings, Mildred, Sallie Mae, Thomas, Charles and James; and her children, John Henry Lewis and Melba Laverne Lewis-Allen (late Nathaniel Allen).
She is survived by: her sisters, Ruby and Dorothy; her former husband Dewitt Lewis; her spouse Willie Milton Thornton; and her stepdaughter Demetria Ann Thornton-Walker. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gregory B. Levett and Sons - Gwinnett Chapel (914 Scenic Hwy N, Lawrenceville, GA 30045). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location.
