He was predeceased by : his parents, Elvie Smith and Gladys Leona Andrews Smith; and his children, Amanda Marie Smith and Joshua John Smith. He is survived by : his wife Debrah Darlene Peters Smith of Leesburg; his sons, William Franklin Smith, Jr. of Leesburg and James Shannon Smith of Leesburg; his grandchildren, Taylor Zachery Smith and Joshua Dyson Smith; and his siblings, Delane Smith (Gina) of Pavo, Jerome Roberts (Mary) of Thomasville, Gladys Louise Cooper (James) of Meigs and Wynette Roberts (Theron) of Thomasville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and friends.
