He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Elizabeth Winston of Granville County, NC and Herbert Julian Brown of Hertford County, NC.; and his former wife Nancy Dickens Brown. He is survived by: his wife Linda Jewett Brown; his children, Julian Winston Brown, Jr. (Andrea) of Lexington, GA and Dr. Erin Brown Zawol (Chris) of Oxford, GA; his grandchildren, Alyssa Rae Brown, Julian Winston Brown, III, Memphis Marie Thompson, Riley Jo Thompson and Scarlett Ann Zawol; and his brother William S. Brown (Mary Lee) of Henderson, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes (4355 Lexington Rd, Athens, GA 30605). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
