She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Wilkerson and Lessa Ewing Wilkerson; her husband James Donald Wood; and her siblings, Claude Wilkerson, C. W. Wilkerson, Catherine Wilkerson, Dixie Mobley and Louie Wilkerson.
She is survived by: her children, Vicki Ivey (Richard) of Eatonton, Georgia, Becky Chappell (Cliff) of Martin, Georgia and Mike Wood (Peggy) of Anderson; her grandchildren, Carey Ivey of Eatonton, Georgia, Bryan Ivey of Eatonton, Georgia, Jenny Hill (Eric) of Carnesville, Georgia, Jason Chappell of Fair Play, Brittany Bolemon (Britt) of Greenville and Scott Wood (Carmen) of Rome, Georgia.; her great grandchildren, Sunny Hill, Quinn Chappell, Tyler Bolemon, Carson Bolemon, Sawyer Bolemon, Landree Bolemon, Huxley Wood, Hixon Wood and Hendrix Wood; and her sister Connie Knight. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in honor of Betty's lifelong love and compassion for animals, especially stray and abandoned dogs.
