She was predeceased by : her parents, Milton Cole and Lula Stamps Cole; her husband Rev. Charles Wayne Barnes; her brothers, Loren and Duma Cole; and her grandson Philip Sweatmon.

She is survived by : her children, Dale Barnes, Doyle and Barbara Barnes; and her grandchildren, Mike, Edie, Curt Allen, Mark, Kristin, April Schlinkert, Jake Freel and Phillip. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
