He was predeceased by : his parents, Emory "Bud" Wesley Spier, Sr. and Nellie A. Spier; his siblings, Peggy Waldrop and James Thomas "Tommy" Spier; and his former life partner Mary Frances Spier.

He is survived by : his wife Tina Spier; his daughters, Sandra Dickson (Scott) and Sheila Pettway (Cecil); his stepdaughter Kelly Brady (Danny); his siblings, Jerry Spier and Sara Thompson; and his grandchildren, Andrew Dickson (Jennifer), Brent Dickson (Katie), Caleb Dickson (Hannah) of Nickolas Pettway, D. J. and Brittany Kastner (Alex). He is also survived by four great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, and a host of nieces and nephews.

“Mr. Spier warmed my heart and blessed my life richly each time he came to our office. The joy of the Lord poured out of Mr. Spier.
