He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Jane Paradise Chastain and James William Chastain; his wife Lucinda "Cindy" Aycock Chastain; and his siblings, William "Yogi" Chastain and Elaine Chastain Gay.
He is survived by: his son Jameson "Jamie" Chastain (Cindy Lee); his grandson Charles Adam Chastain (Rebecca); and his sister Colleen Chastain. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
