She was predeceased by: her parents, James William Blackwell (Lillie Brown Blackwell) and Elam; her husband Charles Ward Elam; her son Charles Ward Elam, Jr.; and her siblings, Lillie Mutimer, Harriett Callaway, Frances Stokely, Peggy Paquette, J. W. Blackwell and Tell Brown Blackwell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda Lovett (Richard) of Hayesville, NC and Lily Crook (Darrell) of Lincolnton, GA; her grandchildren, Margaret Denise Speight, Brian Crook, William E. "Trey" Courtney, III and Trent Ward Courtney; her great grandchildren, Jared Henry, Mason Mathias Courtney and Emma Margaret Courtney; and her great great grandchild Elam Henry.
