He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Mitchell and Elsie Dill Quarles; and his sister Elizabeth Goolsby. He is survived by: his children, Shannon Owens of Charleston, Christopher Owens of Charleston, Kyle Owens of Charleston and Megan Bridges of Elberton, Georgia.; his siblings, Bobby Quarles of Lincolnton and Joyce Dadhirao (Gopal) of New York; and his uncle James "Penny" Dill. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
