He was predeceased by: his parents, J. T. Baker and Helen Kitchens Baker; his brother Leslie "Bohog" Baker; and his son James Michael Baker. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Carolyn Baker; his children, Steve Baker (Peggy) and Missy Ferguson (Blake); his grandchildren, Heather Clonts, Jenny White, Heath, Zanna Beth Ferguson and Baker Ferguson; his great grandchildren, Kadey Clonts, Kami Clonts, Robby White, JJ Hammond, Addy Hammond, Sam Hammond, Jace Hammond and Ava Hammond; and his siblings, Mike Baker and Linda Walker. He is also survived by his family—especially his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the South Chapel (3002 Maple Rd SE, Rome, GA 30161). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
