He was predeceased by: his parents, Peyton Compton and Jettie Compton; his wife Lillie Mae Compton; his grandson Charlie Compton; and his siblings, Rae Wanda Compton, Ressie Lemoine, Catherine Harper, Shirley Mattingly, James Compton, Johnny Compton, Hollis Compton and Carol Compton.
He is survived by: his son Darrell Wayne Compton (Carol) of Lizella, Georgia; his grandsons, Daniel Wayne Compton (Kori) of Byron and Dustin Wayne Compton (Sandra) of Lizella; his great grandchildren, Dalton Wayne Compton, Dakota Wayne Compton and Devin Wayne Compton; and his sister Betty Dozier (Jim) of Biloxi, Mississippi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
