She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Eduardo Avendaño and Clara Luz Avendaño; her husband Cesar Maldonado; her daughters, Mayra Evans (Tom), Kathy Curbelo (late Robert), Nancy Hendricks (Russell) and Cindy Correa (Jorge); her grandchildren, Sean, Kara (Rob), Marcus (Renata), Kristina, Elena, Jeremy (Reece), Jordan, Julia, Logan, Tyler, Andrew and Natalia; and her great grandchildren, Aria, Lyla and Dani. She was also cherished by loving wife of nearly 59 years and a caring mother, grandma, great-grandma, and friend.

In remembrance of Flor's life, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the American Diabetes Association in her memory.
