He was predeceased by : his parents, Isaac Alvin Gordy and Emma Ree Walden Gordy; and his brothers, Harris Gordy, Hoyt Gordy and William Gordy.

He is survived by : his wife Patricia McNeely Gordy; his children, Frank Alvin Gordy, Jr. (Heather), Christopher Blaine Gordy (Tammy), James Blake Gordy and Sharon K. Gordy; and his grandchildren, Sean Gordy (Liz), Bryan Gordy (Juliana), Taylor Kipreos (Chris), Emma Gordy, Brittan Gordy, Mitchell Gabriel and Daniel Gabriel. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Louisville United Methodist Church, 301 West 7th Street, Louisville, GA 30434.
