He was predeceased by: his wife Linda McReady Hughes; his parents, Lewis Hughes and Addie Hughes; his grandson Charlie Smith; and his siblings, Crother, Matthew Hughes, Melvin Hutcheson, Viola Hartley and Oddie Griffin.
He is survived by: his children, Bernice Deitz (Hayden) of Ludowici, Lenette Harper (Bert) of Lake Havasu, Robbie Hughes (Leah) of Ludowici and Paul Rozier of Ala; his grandchildren, Shaunna Shores (Jeff), Merrill Chapman (Mary), Chelsea Chapman, Kaylen Deitz (Alicia), Hunter Pilkinton, Robbilyn Smith (Dakota), Rikilee Burns and Ashlyn Hughes (Earl Blocker); and his sister Erma Lou Hadden (Cleo) of Ludowici. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
