He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Gordon and Loy Etris Patterson; and his sisters, Geneva Armour, Connie Mote and Marie Patterson.

He is survived by : his wife Diana Patterson; his children, Jason Patterson (Angela), Terry Patterson (Robin), Phillip Watkins, Angel Sexton, Tina Patterson, Tony Patterson and Steven Kirk; and his sisters, Evelyn Shuler (Larry) and Sandy Jackson (John Rowden). He is also survived by 4 step-children, 13 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews & other relatives.
