He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther S. Chitwood and Onie Jean Crenshaw Chitwood; and his siblings, Hazel Pear, Billy Paul Chitwood, Charles Chitwood, Earl Chitwood, Bud Chitwood and Sam Chitwood.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Overby Chitwood of Lula; his daughter Rena; his son-in-law Ricky Carroll; his granddaughter Gina; his grandson-in-law Brandon Dodd; and his great grandchild Raylynn Dodd. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
