It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geraldine Elizabeth Ruis of Lula, Georgia, born in Hiawassee, Georgia, who passed away on January 2, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Albert Hooper and Sarah "Cleo" Brown Hooper; and her sister-in-law Patricia Hooper. She is survived by : her husband John Carroll Ruis; her son Derek; her daughter-in-law Bridget Skalon Ruis; her grandsons, Logan Johnson (Savanna), Nolan Johnson and Jacob Ruis; her brothers, Tommy Hooper, Jackie (Linda Hooper), Reggie (Glenda Hooper) and Michael (Mary Ann Hooper); and her great grandchild Everett Johnson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
