He is survived by: his wife Jolynn Elrod; his son William Elrod; his stepsons, Jackie Carter (Ashley) and Scott Seaman (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Harley Carter and L. J. Carter; his sister Renae Franklin (David); his parents-in-law, Ricky and Carol Joy; his siblings-in-law, Anna Scott (T. C.), Teresa Caron (Bobby), Suzanne Bennage (Troy) and Ricky Joy Jr. (Miriam); Grace Dooley, Jerry Cook and Wallace Cook. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of good friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mason Funeral Home (320 GA-48, Summerville, GA 30747). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
