He was predeceased by: his parents, J. M. Sims and Betty Hill Sims; and his siblings, Danny Ray Sims, Hazel Sims Williams, Susie Ray, Charlotte Carol and Timmy Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Becky Sims; his children, Joey Dempsey (Tiffany), Casey Dempsey (Gayla), Amanda Devier (Jeff), Timmy Ray (Jennie), Pete Sims, Turp Williams (Miranda) and Kelly Forrest (Jason); and his siblings, Randy Sims (Kennie), Kim Chaves and Linda Hunt. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
